A recent report found that more than a quarter of all gridscale energy storage systems installed have fire risks. High density energy storage systems pose inherent safety risk as fire propogates rapidly as a result of thermal runaway. Reducing fire risk is only possible by redesigning gridscale energy storage.
Grid ESS today uses active thermal management, fire detection, fire suppression, gas ventilation systems all of which together increase product costs by over 25%. Besides this, additional costs are incurred for maintenance and operation (auxillary power). Tahoe product uses an architecture that reduces system, installation and maintenance costs improving solar + storage economics.
Solar systems today lose around 10-30% of energy due to inverter clipping. Tahoe's unique dc coupled battery architecture, avoids inverter clipping and also improves overall efficiency of the system by over 10%. Improved efficiency means more energy to dispatch, which is more revenue for Independant Power Producers (IPP).

Tahoe energy was established to increase adoption of renewables (solar + energy storage) by developing a safer, more cost-effective grid-scale energy storage system (ESS) design, based on widely adopted LFP battery technology.
Mission
To deploy safer, more efficient, intelligent and cost-effective battery storage solutions alongside renewable energy generation, such as solar, to enable renewables to meet 24/7 grid demand.
Vision
To be a leader in deploying optimized, integrated, grid-scale technologies that enable a quicker transition to renewable energy.
Core Values
Tahoe Energy looks to launch the product in 2025. The team is busy building and developing the solution.
There a multiple ways you help us bring a safer more reliable renewable energy system to market.
